Study Principles

Be ready always to give an answer.
I Peter 3:15 - But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

God’s word is true.
Psalm 119:160 - Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.

God does not contradict Himself. He is always the same;
He never changes.

Malachi 3:6 - For I am the LORD, I change not.
Heb 13:8 - Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

God’s ways and thoughts are not like my ways and thoughts.
Isaiah 55:8-9 - For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Think outside the box. Don’t depend on what you have been taught.
Acts 17:11 - These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Ask for sensitivity to the teaching of the Spirit.
John 14:26 - But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

The prophecies of scripture were given for all men to understand—not just a few.
2Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
